3-letter Minecraft names

There are 17,576 possible names of three letters, and 50,653 of three characters once digits and the underscore count.

A random three-letter name adds $150–450 to an account, a pronounceable one $230–750; a real word sits in the word classes above that.

Minecraft names use the letters A to Z, the digits and the underscore; capitals do not make a different name. Pronounceable means a vowel, no three consonants or vowels in a row and a usual start and end. The rule is rough and lets more through than traders would call clean.

What do buyers bid, and why are asks higher?

In forum threads that show both, the current offer was on average 57% of the buy-now price (13 threads). Three-character names with a digit or underscore went for $50–70 at one name dealer in 2023 and 2024; marketplace asks now cluster at $290–530. Both from our survey of 2 October 2026.

Asks run higher because unsold listings stay up for months and resellers copy listings at about double the price. Our ranges show the market value at the original seller. How the name is valued.

Are 4-letter names rare?

Not really. There are 456,976 possible four-letter names, and one seller offers a list of more than 94,000 that it says are still free. A random four-letter name adds $1–10, a pronounceable one like Vexo adds $10–70.
